The Somatic Sex Educators’ Association of Australasia is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people in our region by making quality sex education more available through supporting and promoting the profession of Somatic Sex Education and the practitioners in the field. The SSEAA provides guidelines for the profession on minimum standards of training and adherence to a code of ethics and invites membership from suitably qualified Somatic Sex Educators to join either as a Professional Somatic Sex Educator or as an Associate. Please go to our membership page for more information.

Sex is complex and potentially an extremely rewarding aspect of our existence. There can be many skills involved in the various activities that are part of our sex lives and there is much knowledge and learning available to support their development. Somatic sex educators are trained to teach you these skills and knowledge and how to incorporate them into your life.

Some of these may include:

  • different ways to touch, to communicate, to be more present to sensationv  enhancing and expanding on your experience of sensation, pleasure and orgasm
  • over-coming sexual issues and concerns, such as premature ejaculation, lack of sensation, or difficulty reaching orgasm
  • Plus much more

As with any skill, we develop competency through conscious repetition over time. A somatic sex educator will support you in developing regular practices to enhance your experience of your body, of intimacy, of communication, of sensation, and of sex.

If you are interested in talking to a qualified practitioner please contact one of the practitioners listed here. All the practitioners on this site meet the SSEAA’s standards for membership.

If you are interested in a career in somatic sex education, please contact the SSEAA and we can direct you to approved training courses that meet with our membership requirements and standards.
