What we do

The Somatic Sex Educators’ Association of Australasia is dedicated to enhancing people's lives by making quality sex and somatic education more available through supporting and promoting the professions of Somatic Sex Education and Embodied Counseling.

Our members are professionally trained Somatic Practitioners and Sexuality Educators who are here to teach you skills and knowledge to incorporate into your life. We help you to learn playfulness, experience more pleasure, reduce anxiety, regulate your nervous system, and all the multifaceted ways you can enjoy your body and connections with others.

The SSEAA provides guidelines for the profession on minimum standards of training and adherence to a code of ethics. The Association invites membership from practitioners who have been qualified by industry approved training organisations.

Please go to our membership page for more information.

How we do it

Sex can be a complex and confronting aspect of our human experience. Chances are you were never given a safe or truly supportive space to learn about your sexuality, relationships and pleasure. Developing this area of yourself and consciously learning the many skills involved in creating a healthy and vibrant sex life is incredibly rewarding and impacts your life in a multitude of positive ways.

Some of these may include:

different ways to touch, communicate, learn to be present in order to enhance and expand on your experience of sensation, pleasure and orgasm

over-coming sexual issues and concerns, such as premature ejaculation, lack of sensation, or difficulty reaching orgasm

Plus much more

As with any skill, we develop competency through conscious repetition. A somatic sex educator will support you in developing regular practices to enhance your experience of your body, intimacy, communication, sensation, and sex.
